The PVC Pro is a affordable high-quality 2 channel level control for professional instrument, music and video production environments. It uses balanced XLR inputs and outputs to help maintain the low noise floor benefits of balanced signal lines.

Technically, the PVC is an attenuator. At full volume (control knob all the way to the right), it allows the original signal to pass through without any detectable presence. Moving the control to the left from there reduces the output - attenuates the signal. This allows you to leave your signal source volume wide open for maximum resolution - particularly useful with sound cards and digital interfaces.

The PVC has no power plug or ac connection. It is completely passive - it adds no gain or noise or distortions of any kind. It's neutral, like Sweden.

The PVC Pro also helps break or eliminate ground loops because it uses transformers that electrically isolate the inputs from the outputs. These transformers are very special, famous even because they are made by the Jensen Transformer Company. Most transformers are ragged devices - not very accurate and in some musical instruments and amplifiers lend themselves to a certain sound or distortion. Jensen transformers are very accurate devices, matched pairs, wide bandwidth, very low distortion, very audiophile. In fact, some of the worlds best mic pre amplifiers use Jensen transformers.

Excellent fro bi-amping

I use this unit to biamp my speakers. Solid state on the bottom, tubes on top. The PVC allowed me to precisely match output levels with no perceived degradation in the signal. The Jensen transformers are worth the purchase price alone! Highly recommended.
