The HDP-2 is a full-range surround speaker designed for digital multi-channel home theater systems, particluarly when full frequency response is required from all channels. Inside the compact cabinet are 3 separate enclosures. Each side houses a version of our SuperZero speaker, while in between and firing at the wall is a 6.5" woofer. The HDP-2 can be used with virtually any NHT loudspeaker in a home theater configuration and comes complete with brackets for wall mounting.

A dipolar design uses two sets of drivers, radiating in opposite directions out of phase with one another. Where the radiation patterns overlap, they cancel. By aiming this region of cancellation towards the listener, more diffuse and reflected sound is heard, perfect for surround ambience. Since typical dipolar designs have poor bass response, we designed a "hybrid" that employs dipolar radiation for the upper frequencies coupled with a direct radiating woofer for full-range response.
