The Verve Small was primarily designed for surround channels. It can be used as the front left and right speaker also, but we do not recommend its use for the center channel. The Verve Small satellite is a 3-way design for wide even dispersion and low distortion. While it will not play quite as loud as its larger counterpart, the Verve Small still offers great dispersion adding to the entire system's full sound stage. The Verve small was designed to mount easily to walls or on a shelf or table. Both wall mount and stands are included with all Verve satellites.
The Verve Small satellite speaker is an all-acoustic suspension design. Acoustic suspension designs utilize nature's perfect spring force, air, to damp and control the speaker motion like high performance shocks on a sports car. This significantly lowers distortion for long, fatigue-free listening and improves impulse response allowing subtle detail to be revealed, making everything sound more real. Acoustic suspension designs also allow incredible power handling.
The Verve Small satellite speaker cabinets are beautiful: delicate, yet incredibly robust. The Verve Small satellite speaker extensively braced cabinets are acoustically inert so unwanted cabinet vibrations will never be added to your music. They weigh in at a bit over 13 lbs. each and are constructed of BMC - (bulk moulding compound) an acoustically inert material we can mould with gentle, acoustically ideal curves. The gently sculpted base is included with the Verve Small satellite speaker as are a wall hanger adaptor (see photos).
The Verve Large satellite speakers are finished with 2 primer coats, 7 color coats of polyester paint, and topped with 2 coats of clear acrylic polymer. This piano-gloss black finish is an NHT hallmark.
