Keith's Letter to Us:

To everyone at NHT,

YOU ARE AWESOME! (and so are your speakers)

From the moment I called in to ask questions, I knew I wanted to audition the speakers, sadly there was no way to do so, so I bought them instead (and got a smoking deal, THANKS!). My questions were answered, and I was probably educated more on audio in those 10 minutes on the phone than in the last decade and in terms I could easily understand. I bought my setup two minutes after and received it in two days. All I have to say is “...” (speechless).

I am loving my sound system. I bought the Super Surround 5.1 with a Marantz NR1602 last week and have been shut in my apartment listening to music ever since. (not exactly, but my girlfriend is probably getting jealous of my stereo)

I am not an audio professional nor an audiophile however I noticed a very obvious difference between these speakers and every other home sound system I have listened to. Between friends systems who claim to be “audio buffs” and even the homes of millionaire relatives (who swear by Bose, of all things...) and I have never heard audio like this outside professional mixing studios or multi-thousand-dollar-professionally-installed setups. I even had one of my self proclaimed “audio buff” friends over and he said it was like an “orgasm in his ears” and I really have to agree. I never knew audio quality like this existed within my budget.

I feel like raving on about my new system but you already know how great your stuff is so I’ll tell my friends and relatives instead. You have earned a customer and word-of-mouth referral for life!

Sincerely,

Keith H.

P.S. Need anyone to test out new products? Just kidding, I’m incredibly happy with what I have now!

Nothing Short of Awesome

Pros: Unbelievable reproduction for a $99 speaker. Cons: Rather heavy for standard wall mounts. Bass lacking, get a sub. Bottom line: if you are looking for a speaker/system for any purpose, buy these and a quality receiver/amp (read: marantz/harmon-kardon not onkyo/sony - I use the Marantz NR1602). The Super Zero 2 is one of those too-good-to-be-true-but-actually-is kind of things. I use 5 of these along with the NHT Super 8 sub for 5.1 surround. The results are beyond words. For the first week, I didn't even watch movies or TV, all my spare time was spent listening to all my old music in --stereo 2.1-- as if through new ears. When I started watching my blu-rays again, the result was the same: astounding audio reproduction. The kind that, when you close your eyes, you can actually see the piano/guitar/singer straight in front of you, even though all that's really there is your coffee table. The kind that makes you feel like you're in the middle of the stadium in front row seats. You can hear the depth and openness of the arena, and can tell whether or not the mic is filtered. The only downside to these speakers is the size, too heavy to use with standard wall mounts. But then again, if you're buying this speaker, you're probably not concerned so much as to how well it will work with cheap plastic mounts. These speakers sound like they should cost 10-30 times the amount they do.
