This is the first production filter
set used for the XdS/XdW speakers.
Used in all current XdAs.

This is a filter set designed for
high output applications for use
with systems that contain two XdWs
on the XdA. The crossover frequency
between the XdA and XdW has been
raised to 135Hz to allow higher
output from the XdS. For best imaging,
each XdW must be located within
1’ of it’s XdS.

This filter set is designed
for applications that need lower
bass extension and have two
XdWs connected to the XdA. The
crossover frequency between the XdA
and XdW has been raised to 135Hz
to allow higher output from the XdS.
The filter for the XdW has been adjusted
to give the system bass extension
to 20Hz at -3dB. For best imaging,
each XdW must be located within 1’
of it’s XdS.
Use of this filter set will decrease
the output of the system due to the
increased equalization needed to
extend the XdW bass response to 20Hz.
If the system playback level is too
high while producing low frequencies,
the XdW amplifiers may periodically
mute to protect themselves. This
is normal behavior. If this occurs,
turn the playback level down.

Firmware
This is the current revision to the
firmware code for the XdA when used
with the XdS and XdW speaker systems.
We recommend that all users of the
(consumer Xd system) XdA upgrade
to this version when used with the
XdS/XdW speakers.
