Could be better

Classic Four Floor Standing Tower Speaker
Rating:

But still pretty good. I'm so happy that they made these speakers 4-way instead of the boring, 'normal' 3-way design. The speakers are lacking a bit of clarity, but that is more than made up for by the impressive, booming bass response. It even rattled the windows of my house! I highly recommend these speakers in a subwoofer format.

NHT Absolute 5.1 Surround System
Rating:

I have a music system with Classic Threes and a B-12d. When I was ready for a small home theater set-up, the Absolute Towers were the obvious choice. I read the pro review on the A-Towers that suggested they were even better in some regards than my beloved Threes. I found that hard to believe. I gave them a shot and I am very impressed. I am floored by how musical they are. I paired them with a B-10d sub and the results are terrific. Classic NHT sound and first class looks. Even my wife likes them. Highly recommended not only for home theater but also for music systems. Even without the sub on the A-Towers deliver on music. If you are looking in the towers upto $2500 give them an audition. You will be glad you did.

Amazing Computer Speakers

SuperPower 2.1 Self-Powered Speaker
Rating:

I am using a set of Super Power 2.1 speakers for my desktop audio system. I added a Super 8 sub and the results are fantastic. I watched my first movie on my computer this weekend and they sounded amazing. While they won't replace a Classic Three hometheater system, if you have a smaller area or are on a budget these are a true value. Music sounds awesome too. No bulky amp/receiver needed either if you are tight on space. I can't believe the modest selling price. Great product.

Outstanding

NHT Absolute 5.1 Surround System
Rating:

These speakers have made music, movies, and PC gaming (Battlefield 3) a whole new experience. Previously my surround sound experience came from a Klipsch box set. And I thought that was decent. Then I read about NHT from the Wirecutter.com. The review was enough for me to purchase the speakers on a whim and I am so glad I did. The sound from this system is so crisp and clean. It sounds cliché to say with these NHT speakers I've heard things in music that I've never heard or noticed before but it is true. Listening to the Beatles I've heard coughs in the background or chairs sliding against the floor. Anything that comes through these speakers makes me want more. Pleasing to my ears is an understatement. What I have: Absolute 5.1 surround package with upgraded TwoC center Two SuperZeros Powered by a Marantz SR5007 The Audyssey system setup couldn't be any easier. A quick mention for visual aesthetics...the speakers are; stunning, clean, alluring. In my humble opinion these speakers offer high end sound without a high end price. Even if I could afford something much more expensive I would not purchase that system. Not when NHT delivers the way it does.

Very musical

Super 8 Powered Subwoofer for SuperZero
Rating:

The Super 8 is the perfect complement to the Super Zeros and a fine subwoofer in its own right. Musical, lively and balanced at all times, and forceful only when it's supposed to be. Not a one-note honker, it does acoustic bass justice. More powerful than you'd guess by looking at it. I've got one with the Super Zero 2.0 speakers, and this kit is astoundingly good. Not just for the money, but in absolute terms. I like it better than the $2,500 electrostats I had before, or the Spicas, Missions or Polks before that.

Go-to recommendation for friends and family

NHT Super Stereo
Rating:

As a studio musician, great sound quality is tremendously important to me. I've spent tens of thousands of dollars on high-end stereo equipment throughout my life, so friends and family come to me for advice on what to buy. My dad, brother, and best friends all have NHT systems on my recommendation and love them. The Super Zero System is not only my bedroom system but also my top recommendation for anyone who wants great sound for a small room - regardless of their budget. The mid-range and highs are so clear and accurate that they reproduce everything I hear in the studio, but without any of the harshness that you can get from some very revealing speakers. The sub works great as long as the room size isn't too big. I don't know how NHT gets so much quality into such a low-priced package!

B-10d Powered Subwoofer with DSP
Rating:

A few years back I bought NHT's Absolute Towers and I auditioned them at the showroom. At the time I felt I did not need a sub. After my Adcom amp died after 18 years I bought a new amp / preamp pair from Emotiva. After listening to the new setup for a few months, I bought a NHT b-10 sub and I must say, this combo really brings my living room alive. I can adjust the sub to my needs based on content. I mostly listen to music with the occasional TV watching. The sub has really made the subtle changes that I was looking for.

I bought some NHT speakers years ago and always loved their sound quality. I can still remember listening to my favorite albums for the first time on those speakers and hearing all kinds of sounds I'd never before experienced from music I loved. These iC4 speaks are equally amazing. I can't believe how good they sound, and I wish I'd installed them long ago! I'm glad NHT is still around, and I wish the owners the best of luck as an independent business.

Classic Three Bookshelf Loudspeaker
Rating:

I had to replace a pair of NHT ST-4 towers with bookshelf units after I remodeled my office. I decided to try a pair of JBL L830's. They appeared to have specs similar to these Classic 3's, and I them at a price I couldn't turn down. After a couple of months of regular use, I found the JBL's way too crisp. I never really understood "listener fatigue" until hearing them. I missed the well-rounded range of my ST-4's! Well, I think I can admit that I have NHT ears now. These Classic 3's are every bit as impressive as my old towers, despite not having a subwoofer in tow. Their low-end output is full and bouncy, and the top-end is clear and even, without any hissy, spiking, abrasive treble like the JBL units. These Classic 3's are worth every penny, and they look incredibly good on a countertop.

Terrific Bang for the Buck

SuperZero 2.1 Our Amazing Mini-Monitor
Rating:

Last month I was fortunate to be the one of the winners of NHT’s monthly contest to for a pair of Super Zero 2.1 speakers. I bought a third Super Zero so I could use the speakers as the front and center channel speakers of my home theatre system which is in my family room. My home theatre system is a Denon “Home Theatre in a box” system that came with a receiver, six speakers, and a subwoofer. The Super Zero speakers provided an immediate, significant improvement in sound. TV sounded better, Blue Rays and DVD’s sounded better, and CD’s sounded great. I never really listened to much music with my home theatre system, because I listen to music in my living room on a recently upgraded two channel stereo system which sounded much better. Owning NHT speakers has changed that, because music sounds terrific when I am listening to DVD’s, CD, or cable broadcasts through the NHT speakers. I have hooked the NHT Super Zero speakers to the 100 watt per channel Yamaha R-S700 receiver in my living room to compare them to my newly purchased (and much more costly) three way tower speakers. I have an NHT B10-D subwoofer connected to this system, so the Super Zero’s had good bass to complement their sound. The Yamaha receiver really lit up the sound of the Super Zero’s and they sounded great. I can’t say that the Super Zero’s sound better than my tower speakers but they sound amazing considering how little they cost. After living with the Super Zero’s for several weeks, I am extremely pleased with them. They are very suited to a small to medium sized room. I am getting excellent sound using an inexpensive receiver and an average subwoofer. The high range is tight and accurate and the mid-range sounds, especially when playing music, has excellent punch to it. When NHT comes out with their new Super in wall speakers, I’ll upgrade the rest of the speakers in my home theatre system. Thanks NHT.

I originally bought Super Powers to get much-improved sound from my flat screen TV. They sounded so good however that i decided to build a portable system around them, so now i use them with the B10-d sub, PVC PC volume control, HRT iStreamer, and my iPod for a great sounding full-range system in my living room. You can't go wrong with NHT products, or products sold by NHT. Jim Davis CA 5/2/2013

The In-N-Out Burger of Speakers

SuperPower 2.1 Self-Powered Speaker
Rating:

These speakers are truly something special. I've been familiar with NHT speakers since the 1990's and have always found them to offer a great value. I recently picked up a pair of SuperPower 2.0's for a secondary audio setup and couldn't be more impressed. I've listened to a wide range of speakers including those as expensive as cars such as the MBL 101e and Tannoy Westminster Royal SE and my dedicated audio system can hold its own against any setup at any price (Magnepan ribbons + McIntosh Tubes + Trinnov Room Correction). The SuperPower 2.0 does a great job of finding the right musical balance between imaging and resolution and naturalness. No, there isn't a lot of bass, and the frequency response isn't ruler flat from 20Hz-20kHz but when listening to music, the NHT SuperPower 2.0 sounds great and is fatigue free. It's good enough to let your source equipment shine. In a head-to-head comparison against a Swan M200 ($300/pair), the SuperPower 2.0 was considerably better sounding and well worth the added cost. The smaller footprint is the icing on the cake. The NHT offered superior imaging and clarity compared to the Swan M200 and the loss of bass did not have a musical impact. Even among NHT speakers, the SuperPower 2.0 is something special. I tried to figure out what the "secret sauce" is and the best guess I have is that it's the magic of an active speaker design. NHT does have a custom EQ on the pre-amp board that's fixed for the system and they're using Class D amps from Sweden that NHT seems shy to disclose a lot of information about. I would compare the SuperPower 2.0 to an In-N-Out burger. I'm not going to pretend that In-N-Out is the finest dining you can experience or even that it's the best burger in the world. But In-N-Out is consistently good and no one ever goes home complaining that they had a bad meal. In the same way, while the NHT SuperPower 2.0 is not the best speaker in the world, it's consistently good and has the right balance of sound. I highly recommend the speakers as long as you have a way to control the volume in a manner that you are satisfied with.

I've owned a pair of the Classics 4's for over 5 years and the sound just keeps getting better and better! They are so good that I've upgraded the rest of my system over the years to include a Sony SACD/CD player, a Clearaudio turn table w/ Phonomena phono amp, NAD Digital Media Tuner and most recently a Anti-Mode 2.0 Dual Core digital signal processor. With each upgrade, the NHT's have had no problem communicating the music at an ever increasing level of performance. I have the Special Dark finish which complements my living room furnishings so well that my wife doesn't mind having them proudly diplayed. Highly recommended!

The owners were my sales person, nice. A great experience. The Threes sound so rich and full. Do not need to use my Classic Ten sub sometimes. The do blend perfectly with the sub however. A great speakers at great price. My HT is now complete. Thanks NHT

Tower Sub Package

NHT Absolute Tower Sub Sat System
Rating:

I've had the Absolute Towers for more than a year and was very happy with them with my 2 channel setup mainly for music with occasional TV viewing. I was in the showroom recently in Benicia to lsten to the b10-d sub with the towers and I was blown away on how much it added to the experience. The towers certainly can be used alone ( the bass was fine) but adding the sub brought my music enjoyment to a whole new level. I'm still playing with the volume and crossover settings on the sub, but I'm very happy with this new purchase.

I generally dont write reviews but this time I made an exception. I always wanted to buy a NHT speaker. I'm a big believer in sealed box design. i grew up with many kinds of speakers and I always liked sealed box sound. I got the absolute towers recently and since then I never was disappointed. The midrange is so vivid and clear. I use it with stereo subwoofers for full range stereo. Had a very good buying experience with the NHT people when I spoke to them. It sounds great for movies too. For the price its unbeatable.

Best all-around performer for the money?

Classic Four Floor Standing Tower Speaker
Rating:

I bi-amped the Classic 4s with a 500 watt per channel class D Rotel RB 1092 to the woofers and an RMB 1095 class A/B 200 watt per channel to the middle and upper frequencies. I have had these amps for several years but did not think the amp gains were similar. I got a hold of Rotel and found out that they are almost identical. I will just say that they have come alive. I have owned some very nice and expensive speakers from Infinity-when they were high end, Acoustat, Apogee Acoustics, Magnepan, Martin Logan, and Quad. I love the sound of ribbon tweeters, electrostatic midrange, and dynamic lower ends. I have switched back and forth from NHT to “more exotic” speakers through the years but I believe the NHT’s to be the best all around performer for the money. I currently have NHT Classic 4s, Classic 3s, and a 3c with 2 Classic 10 subwoofers. I need to try a pair of the new BD 12s. But anyway, thanks for your advice with the bi-amping. As a life long purchaser of NHTs-I cant count how many different models I have owned-keep up the good work!
